• Ham — Lighthouse, Early crustaceans (Brown Crab, Shrimp). Starter bait. Swap to Hot Dog once the rod is paying for itself.
• Hot Dog — Lighthouse, Better lighthouse pool (Rock Crab, Lobster). Still a lighthouse bait. It does not replace the Empty Beer Can for the boss.
• Empty Beer Can — Lighthouse, Spider Crab. Buy a full Beer Can, feed it to the keeper, equip the empty can he hands back.
• French Fry — Forest, Early Forest fish (Mackerel, Gar, Pike). Bridge bait before the Beginner Lure is worth buying.
• Beginner Lure — Forest, Main Forest Fishipedia pool. Use this for regular Forest entries. Not the Giant Piranha.
• Beginner Boss Lure — Forest, Sunfish, The Old Pike. Optional minibosses. The story piranha ignores this lure.
• Leech Bait — Forest, Giant Piranha. Hand three ground leeches to the woman by the lake.
• Standard Lure — Desert, Main Desert pool, including endangered fish. Needlefish / Bowlfish / Seahorse for the tourist live on this lure.
• Standard Boss Lure — Desert, Blue Shark. Mini-boss that unlocks the lighter and the grill. Not the Pufferfish.
• Carrot — Desert, Pufferfish. Tourist reward after an endangered catch. Cannot be substituted with a shop lure.
• Professional Lure — Rocks, Main Rocks pool. Regular Rocks Fishipedia entries share this lure.
• Professional Boss Lure — Rocks, Tuna. Tuna is a summon item for the Albatross, not a shop sale.
• Tuna (dropped on grass) — Rocks, Albatross. Drop the dead Tuna on the central grassy patch. The bird is not hooked from the water.
• Scientific Lure — Volcano, Main Volcano pool. Shop price is patch-sensitive. Used for ordinary Island 5 entries.
• Scientific Boss Lure — Volcano, Goblin Shark. Optional collection catch. Not required to finish the story.
• Fish Bucket — Volcano, Bowhead Whale. Scientist reward after five fish. Dynamite is the usual farm.
• Bowhead Whale corpse — Volcano, Mutated Bowhead Whale. Carry the body to the crater and throw it in. Do not sell it.
