Volcano is a military camp glued to a cooker. Lava replaces the desert grill: drop a fish in, watch the cook, pull it before it carbons. The shop sells an assault rifle. Upgrade it, upgrade the sniper you kept, and sell the SMG if you need the cash — the rifle is the better room-clearer now.
The scientist wants five fish. Any five. Dynamite is the honest answer. He hands you Fish Bucket bait. That bucket is the Bowhead Whale. Kill the whale and do not sell it. A wooden plank near the camp marks the climb. Carry the corpse to the crater and throw it in. That is the Mutated Bowhead Whale, not a cutscene.
The mutated fight keeps the belly-flop and adds lava spit. When it dies, the scientist wants the fin. He has the keys to the black boat. Follow the prompt toward the mainland. Goblin Shark on a Scientific Boss Lure is collection homework for later, not a missing story flag.
